H.R. 8 will be exciting to witness as it is a bipartisan effort for Universal Background checks for the purchase of firearms. A legislative effort that has been a long time coming and with overwhelming popular support. Gun deaths in America are preventable which is why it is unacceptable for actions not to be taken to prevent them. Americans are 25 times more likely to be killed with guns than people in other developed nations. 97% of Americans support requiring a background check for all gun sales.
